Social Action is a new type of company that develops environmental projects with a social scientific focus. Methodologically, we work in the user-driven innovation methodology to change people's behavior towards a more environmentally friendly behavior.
As an example, we work on the project 'User-Driven Bioethanol. The project is physically happening on the island of Bornholm where Social Action is mapping how to motivate and involve the entire island society in a longterm-based collection of organic waste for use in a new 2nd generation bioethanol plant. The bioethanol plant will be built next year on Bornholm by Biogasol. The knowledge emerged from the project will be used to sell other 2nd generation bioethanol plants in Denmark and abroad.
We take our name, Social Action, literally, as society needs massive behavioral changes and actions to address climate challenges. New behavourial actions must be introduced for citizens and employees and high performance innovative thinking is a crucial part of our work process.
It is our experience that new environmental improvements and CO2 reductions can be effectively achieved in the shape of new behaviours when there is a positive motive to carry out a new action. New actions will occur by designing tailor-made logistics and economical and environmental motivation schemes - often in locally defined geographic areas.
